Don’t submit resumes online
Thursday, November 5th, 2009How can I be more successful submitting resumes online?
- Karen
Please don’t waste your time submitting resumes online. Instead talk with real, live people in some form. You can even stay at your computer and still connect with them on LinkedIn and Facebook, although I would really love for you to pick up the phone or send direct email to people you know.  We devote an entire module teaching how to do this effectively in Job-Right.
“Eighty percent of jobs today are being obtained on personal referrals.”

If you’re still going to submit resumes online, make sure they are search optimized. There is no person sitting there reading your resume.  Human eyes will not select your resume from the database – a search engine will. There’s plenty of information on the web about optimizing for searches.
But seriously spend your time more productively – with humans.
