What’s Working in This Economy
There are people out there who are finding jobs every day, despite the economic downturn. We surveyed them to find out what’s actually working in this economy.  We hope that you will find the following information truly valuable and that it will provide you with a sense of hope!
- 80% of people looking for a new job found one in 6 months or less.
- 93.4% of people said that their new job was getting closer to or was their ideal job.
- Over 50% of people found their new job through someone – 33% were referred by a friend or former colleague and 20% were found by a recruiter
- 100% of people said that a positive attitude and self-confidence are vitally important to the job search and the success of their job search.
- People who were laid off or searching for a job stayed positive and confident by volunteering, networking, writing, developing back-up plans and treating finding work as a full-time job.
- The most common piece of advice for those who may be considering relocating for a new job is not to quit your current job until you have an offer written in a contract. Some other advice is to research the company thoroughly and make sure you have back-up capital to sustain you temporarily.
